3 Sprouts Storage Bins Put the Fun in Functional

This fun and functional storage bin is available in monkey, owl, elephant or hippo.

As a parent I expected to be inundated with all things baby related.  But I was completely unprepared for what this really meant for my home.  Baby stuff everywhere! Not just in my son’s room, but the living room, kitchen, my bedroom and even the bathroom were taken over. I thought that as my two boys got older and more independent (I was hoping for independence at age 2) we would be able to corral everything into their room. Boy, was I wrong!

Now, my boys are 6 and 4 and my husband and I are still fighting the good fight to keep the chaos to a minimum. One of the more surprising items we have is an over-abundance of stuffed animals. Who knew that stuffed animals could take over the house? My son James is especially fond of them, and it seems every time I turn around he has a new one.

One day I came into Isis and saw we had new storage bins from 3 Sprouts.  In the center we used them to hold our O-Balls and other loose items.  I thought they were super cute.  However, I wasn’t convinced they were the right solution for me.  I’m a see-through bin kind of girl.  I always thought that if my kids could see where their toys went, they would be more willing to put them away.  As with most preconceived notions regarding my children, it didn’t work out that way.

One day I decided to bring home my own Brown Owl Storage Bin after seeing so many moms and kids go home with their own. There is something about the brown wise owl with its orange accents that I couldn’t stop thinking about. I didn’t really know what I was going to use it for. After walking into the boys’ room and seeing James’ bed completely taken over by his stuffed friends, I had my AH-HA moment! Owl bin = corral stuffed animals in a cute way. So I made a deal with James. He could keep as many of his friends as would fit in his owl storage bin. He loved the owl and agreed right away. We shook on it and so far I’ve been able to keep him at his word.

Imagine my delight, when Isis brought in a larger selection of products from 3 Sprouts! I’m having a hard time picking a favorite from the expanded selection of bins. In addition to the Brown Owl, we have a Yellow Monkey, Pink Elephant, Blue Elephant and Purple Hippo.  I really can’t find the right word to describe why I love them… fun, graphic, whimsical, sophisticated, bright and functional.  On top of all that, they are made out of organic cotton.  Really, could 3 Sprouts make them any better?

Along with the new array of storage bins, we also have a selection of smocks, hooded towels, placemats and picture frames that are FUNtastic all on their own.  The smocks: Purple Cow, Brown Monkey and Green Frog, will inspire your little artist to get down and dirty without the clean-up for you.  Getting ready for meal-time? The placemats: Pink Elephant, Green Frog and Blue Whale, will brighten up your table. The picture frames will be the perfect accessory to the Storage Bins in your room.

They are all so cute, but I think between those two, I’d take the hippo. It’d be great to store all of the toys in the living room, and also a great way to help the little one (18 months) get into the habit of cleaning up.

Does Isis still have the Owl ones in the stores?

      Hi Kim,
The Owl Storage Bin is still available in Boston, Brookline and Needham. They sell out fast, so call ahead to check the status and the staff can put one on hold for you.

I would love to win the purple hippo storage bin. I am currently teaching my daughter how to put toys “in” and not just take “out”…I know-wishful thinking:) In any event, the purple hippo is adorable and I think she would be very interested in it, even if it is only to take toys “out” of!

I would love a purple Hippo storage bin. My little girl is only 8 months old, and already has piles of toys that lay scatttered across the floor in every room of our apartment. How does this happen? I think a hippo bin would be so adorable in her nursery, and she could grow up learnring to “feed the hippo” as she fills the bin with her many toys!

I LOVE these! They are so amazingly cute and would add so much more to our nursery than the horrible Tupperware bucket we have holding a stuffed animal collection right now! We would love the purple hippo storage bin, it would match my daughters purple hippo chair perfectly!!! We have a girly safari animal theme :)

Ahhh – they’re both adorable, but I’d have to go with the Monkey, since my daughter winds up being called “monkey” for all of her wild antics lately. We could totally use this to store all of the toys that currently clutter my living room floor.

Oh my word, these are the cutest things ever! I honestly don’t know which is the cutest – I have an affinity for hippos, especially as that is what my wife called herself when she was pregnant. It stuck and we now call our little one the hungry hippo. :)

Maggie is only two months old and I can’t handle the stuffed animals..Help! She cannot play with them yet and we need a place to store them. The purple hippo would be a lot of fun!

My first choice is the monkey and, like everyone else, I’d use it to store my daughter’s little toys. Right now I store them in her bathtub so of course they get dumped out every few days. She loves monkeys – I think. She’s only 4 months old, but who doesn’t love monkeys?

We love the purple hippo one — When i was 6 i gave my sister a purple hippo stuff animal that became her “hippo”. When I got pregnant she gave a purple stuffed animal hippo to our little boy. He now sleeps with it! We love these storage bins and would definitely use it to store all of our son’s stuff animals!

We would love to win the yellow monkey bin! It is shocking how many toys my 4 month old son has already accumulatedd. And spread out all over the house the way they are, they are bound to trip me one of these days!

We’d love to use the Hippo one to play a last game of *peekaboo* after having put away all the toys for the day…then with the house looking lovely and tidy, as well as super cute, we can all do the bedtime routine and get some sleeeep!

Advice for new parents and parents to be: anyone you CAN say it to (your own parents, MIL if youre on good terms, best friends), instill a no stuffed animals for gifts rule. Its astounding how many you will quickly amass from those you cant control, so tell the folks you can, to please DO NOT give your child any stuffed animals. They do mostly just line up on shelves or bins collecting dust+dust mites=allergies.

We’d love to win a yellow Monkey storage bin! We live in a smaller sized apartment and in order to stay sane, have to keep things (toys, blankets, bibs, diapers) stashed and organized in bins. I love the look of these cute animal bins and know our son would love the monkey, too :)

We’d love the monkey storage bin! My husband and I were both born in the year on the monkey so we have a special fondness for awesome monkey things in our son’s room. We have so many toys – this would be a huge help keeping them organized in our small home.

I’d use the Monkey bin to capture all of my 2 year old’s monkey toys. She’s particularly fond of that curious one….and it appears he comes to help her make messes. We’d have her hide her toys in the Moneky as a clean up game!
