A Long Distance Thank You: Encouragment for New Moms Across the Country

Amy BerryHi Nancy (and Isis!)

I’m currently watching the “Childcare, Environments & Caregivers” sleep webinar from the Isis webinar archive. You had asked a woman from Raleigh to email you and let you know how she was benefiting from Isis in a location where there is no office, so I thought I’d do the same.

My friend Nicole lives in Waltham, MA and recommended I follow @nancyholtzman and @isis_parenting on twitter (I live in a suburb outside of Chicago). I loved following the tweets and soon started exploring your website and LOVE the recorded webinars. Last week I took Keegan (now 9 weeks old) on a walk while I listened to a webinar about traveling with infants from my iPhone with my headphones. I’ve probably listened to about 4 others about sleeping and at least 4 or 5 of the breastfeeding webinars on nursing and pumping while he’s been napping and/or feeding. You’ve even responded to a couple of my tweets! (One about baby wearing and another about sleep environments). I have found your tweets and Isis’ e-learning section of the website a life saver!

What I like is that the suggestions Isis has, have a common theme: whatever works best for the baby and the family – based on the expertise of you and the other wonderful, well-qualified, women at Isis. It makes figuring things out much less stressful in a world where there are now infinite options/possibilities for parenting decisions.

I also enjoy all of the products you have recommended online. I have forwarded your information and Isis onto other girlfriends in Ft. Wayne, IN, Atlanta, GA, Columbus, OH and Milwaukee, WI.

Thank you for all of your knowledge, sharing it with the world and supporting all mothers out there. Motherhood (especially first time moms) requires a lot of encouragement and I find that from you and Isis. I will continue to use the Isis website and webinars. I will also never hesitate to send you a tweet should I have a more specific question!

Even though I don’t know you personally, thank you for being you.

From Chicagoland,
Amy Berry

PS: The picture I attached is from a wedding we (with my husband Brenden) attended this past weekend in Iowa City, IA. Not only did I use the tips I learned from the webinars I watched (we learned that Keegan loves car rides – slept the entire time there and back…3 hours each way), but I used the Baby K’Tan to wear him at the reception so we could all enjoy ourselves…including Keegan who took his nap!

I 100% second this post!!! Nancy and Isis have given me so much more confidence to parent my second baby (now almost 4 weeks old) and my 2 year old. I have told numerous friends and family members about you guys. I even shared with the lactation consultant that visited me in the hospital while I was listening to “the first two ‘daze’” webinar! I’m so happy to support Isis when I can and super excited that you are going to be in Dallas soon!

I love the Isis/Nancy viewpoint for the same reasons! It’s about giving you knowledge to figure out what’s best for your family in a very non-judgmental way that’s gentle for baby and mama.
